Acne Definitions, Terms and Acronyms:
  • Acne scar treatment - chemical peels or acid peels are a type of organic acid, most commonly glycolic, salicylic, or lactic, that is applied to the skin so that a smoother skin layer can surface.
  • Papule - a small, solid and usually conical elevation of the skin that do not contain pus. This distinguishes them from pustules. Papules often occur in clusters and can accompany rashes.
  • Skin pore - an opening into a sebaceous gland that secretes oil to lubricate and protect the surface of the skin. Obstructed or clogged pores can lead to acne pimples.
